Olivia Walker,
The desperation I have to live in a house with a million secret passageways and where every sentence is a riddle is enormous。 Gah。 Jennifer Lynn Barnes has one of the most creative, intelligent, strategic, and chess-like brains I’ve ever seen, and this series is one of its many masterpieces。 I need the third book now, I need a tv adaptation, and I need a theme park ride of Hawthorne Manor to play in for hours。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Ok so I’m really surprised Avery ends up with Jamison。 Like REALLY surprised。 I’m glad though, because I do think it makes the most sense in terms of how they spent the most time together。 I was really feeling like this was going to be cliche where the brooding, cold guy gets the girl over the golden retriever friend。 I’m a bit confused by how the sexual tension was resolved with Grayson - in that I feel like it wasn’t resolved? So that’s super awkward Cos they’re brothers。 The twist at the end Ok so I’m really surprised Avery ends up with Jamison。 Like REALLY surprised。 I’m glad though, because I do think it makes the most sense in terms of how they spent the most time together。 I was really feeling like this was going to be cliche where the brooding, cold guy gets the girl over the golden retriever friend。 I’m a bit confused by how the sexual tension was resolved with Grayson - in that I feel like it wasn’t resolved? I couldn’t believe that Sheffield Grayson loved his nephew THAT MUCH… like to the extent of hunting Toby to kill him, and kill collateral people too。 I also do not understand how Tobias Hawthorne could know that Avery is linked to Toby because of how her name is an Anagram。 That feels way too far reaching for me。Lastly, I still wish this novel was about adults。 Ideally, I think college aged would work better than high school studentsEdit: omg I guess I am stupid but I thought this series was a duology and i am shocked there is a third book LOL I did not notice any foreshadowing。 I was reading other reviews that talked about how this book is really setting the stage for the next one and im like HUH? 。。。more
Skanda,
Holy shit。 I cannot with life rn。This book completely screwed my brain, and I am so, so glad I read it。 The Inheritance Games was all over my feed, so I decided to give it a read and got hooked。 I didn't waste any time in downloading a pdf of this, and oh boy was I in for a ride。 It starts off pretty quickly as it is, and the pace just never slows down。 Never。 My eyes practically came out of my sockets as I read。 There's a new mystery every chapter, every page, every line。 It's jsut so addictive Holy shit。 I cannot with life rn。This book completely screwed my brain, and I am so, so glad I read it。 The Inheritance Games was all over my feed, so I decided to give it a read and got hooked。 I didn't waste any time in downloading a pdf of this, and oh boy was I in for a ride。 It starts off pretty quickly as it is, and the pace just never slows down。 Never。 My eyes practically came out of my sockets as I read。 There's a new mystery every chapter, every page, every line。 It's jsut so addictive。 You never know what's going to happen next, and I love it so much。 Go read this book, now。Five stars for messing with my head :) 。。。more

I enjoyed this and raced through! Of course it's the second book in a trilogy, so the reader can't expect everything to be settled。 I enjoyed this and raced through! Of course it's the second book in a trilogy, so the reader can't expect everything to be settled。 。。。more

Kehleigh,
It was enjoyable, but the stereotypical romance plot had me rolling my eyes on several occasions。 If you liked the first book, you'll probably enjoy this one too for a light read。 Admittedly, some of the twists in this book were pretty good, even if I saw some of them coming。 What I find most interesting about this book is that it's a mystery novel which doesn't involve murder。 I've been curious to read books like that before, and it's interesting to see how the mystery is developed。 Overall, it It was enjoyable, but the stereotypical romance plot had me rolling my eyes on several occasions。 If you liked the first book, you'll probably enjoy this one too for a light read。 Admittedly, some of the twists in this book were pretty good, even if I saw some of them coming。 What I find most interesting about this book is that it's a mystery novel which doesn't involve murder。 I've been curious to read books like that before, and it's interesting to see how the mystery is developed。 Overall, it's a good read if you just want some light entertainment。 。。。more

Solitamente se il libro è un seguito può essere più bello o più brutto del primo。 Ma questo è l’eccezione。 Entrambi sono libri fantastici e scorrevoli。 Da leggere!

Wow。 That was an eventful read。 Overall really loved the book, it kept me intrigued throughout the whole thing that I just couldn’t stop reading。 I do feel the ending was a bit rushed but nonetheless I am going to go read the third book now
Victoria Rosello,
NOOOOO I FINISHED IT TOO FAST :’(This book is just as amazing, if not BETTER, than the first。 I can’t even put into words how much I love these books。 Please read these books。 They are amazing and will have you on the edge of your seats the WHOLE time。 And it’s not just something I’m saying; I mean it with my whole heart。 These books are my favorites and probably will be for the rest of my life。 Well done, Jennifer Lynn Barnes。 Well done。
Maddi,
1。5 starsI am team Grayson, have been since the beginning。 I don’t understand the team Jameson crowd。 He is just like Jeremiah from The Summer I Turned Pretty。 He is a game, never is going to take things seriously, going to make everything a game, never going to settle down, always looking and digging for the next clue, hint, or riddle。 Even Avery herself questions his motives。 I forget the page but she wonders, “What was his angle here?” Thank you for listening to the reasons why I don’t like J 1。5 starsI am team Grayson, have been since the beginning。 I don’t understand the team Jameson crowd。 He is just like Jeremiah from The Summer I Turned Pretty。 He is a game, never is going to take things seriously, going to make everything a game, never going to settle down, always looking and digging for the next clue, hint, or riddle。 Even Avery herself questions his motives。 I forget the page but she wonders, “What was his angle here?” Thank you for listening to the reasons why I don’t like Jameson。 To talk about the book, I think it’s lacking。 It lacks personality, almost。 So much happens in this book it’s hard to remember it all。 I think the author could have toned it down a little。 There were also a couple of things that could have been something, but the author just left it there, without continuing。 And that made me frustrated。 It shows signs of lazy writing, and that’s what I’m not here for。 Can we talk about the DNA test? There is no way it took that long to come back。 For Avery to be (a) a billionaire, (b) to have her lawyer practically with her at all daylight hours, (c) and to have everything right at her disposal, there is no way that test should have come back no later than a day or two。 I could go on and on, but I think I’ll stop。 。。。more
sara,
WOW this book was so good i couldn’t stop reading it there were so many plot twists I would have never expected and I am just so flabbergasted
luci,
i’m giving this one a 4。78。 this one was really good too at the beginning & its not that it was horrible towards the end & it wasn’t 100% predictable but it did feel like we were running in circles like she had started getting the ball rolling and then like 90% through she couldn’t quite figure out exactly where she wanted it to go so she took a hard left。 hoping she ties it into a nice little bow at the end。 also so upset with who avery is leaning towards。
Deanna Chu,
This book outdid the first one。 i’ve never been more surprised and held on the corner of my seat。 My new favourite comfort series。
Sandra,
"Picture yourself standing on a cliff overlooking the ocean。 The wind is whipping your hair。 The sun is setting。 You long, body and soul, for one thing。 One person。 You hear footsteps behind you。 You turn。 Who's there?"“Jameson had a habit of tossing out words that should matter like they didn't at all。”Book 2 in seriesAgain, I loved the plot, but I was reminded of how bad the writing is。 Really corny and rushed, but the mystery and romance still kept my attention。 "Picture yourself standing on a cliff overlooking the ocean。 The wind is whipping your hair。 The sun is setting。 You long, body and soul, for one thing。 One person。 You hear footsteps behind you。 You turn。 Who's there?"“Jameson had a habit of tossing out words that should matter like they didn't at all。”Book 2 in seriesAgain, I loved the plot, but I was reminded of how bad the writing is。 Really corny and rushed, but the mystery and romance still kept my attention。 。。。more
